Warren Edward Bean 76, of Albany, California, passed away peacefully in his home on May 22nd, 2026 with his wife Barbara by his side.
Born on December 31, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland, He was the beloved son of Laura Mae Bean and the late William Edward Bean.
Warren proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, an experience that was an important chapter in his life. After his military service, he attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated and went on to build a career as an architect. Throughout his career he was known for his creativity, dedication, and the pride he took in his work.
Athletic throughout his life, Warren enjoyed tennis, golf, skiing, and sailing, and held a deep lifelong passion for Aikido, to which he dedicated many years. He was a gifted mentor and teacher who taught swimming, tennis, and golf, sharing not only his skills but also his patience, encouragement, and love of learning with others.
Warren was a kind and generous man who was always willing to lend a hand to friends, neighbors, and family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a gifted storyteller who loved sharing memories and making people laugh.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Bean; his daughter Renee Dudlek and her husband Joseph Dudlek; and his cherished grandson Carter Warren Dudlek, who proudly carries his grandfather’s name. He is also survived by his mother, Laura Bean; his siblings Gwendolyn, Christiana, Philip, Gregory, Victoria, Rodney, and Edward; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends; and his beloved dog Ginger, who he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Bean, and his sister Marsha.
Warren will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and the care he showed to those around him. His presence, laughter, and stories will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 10th from 11 a.m. to Noon, followed by a funeral service beginning at Noon. A reception celebrating Warren’s life to follow.
