Walter N. Baxter

Walter N. Baxter, Jr., age 87, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 22, 2015.

A native Californian, Walter was born and raised in the Bay Area and was a graduate of Berkeley High School and the University of California, Davis. Walter was the president of Sunset View Cemetery, in El Cerrito, CA for 40 years and an active member of several organizations in the Bay Area including: Bay Cities Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry 32nd Degree, Aahmes Temple of Shrine and Richmond Elks Lodge #1251.

He was an outdoor enthusiast and retired to Colusa, CA in 1989 to pursue his passions; hunting, fishing and sitting next to a warm crackling fire laughing with family and friends.
Walter is preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Baxter, parents Walter Norwood Baxter, Sr. & Ethel Graham Baxter and sister June Baxter Hill.

He is survived by his second wife, Kimi Kagehiro Baxter, son William Baxter and his wife Cheryl and step-daughter Brittani Gomez.

Walter was a devoted husband and loving father who will be missed by many.

A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
