From out last visit in February all the way back to Portola Jr. High days Victor was a a nice guy and friend to all. He had that ability to bring a laugh to a dreary situation.... You leave behind a tremendous group of friends, all wishing your family the best in these challenging times. You will not be forgotten, Pete and Fonda Keown

Thank you Kathy & Chico! Yes he was a an amazing Papa (Grandfather). He loved his sons and grandsons so much! I too am glad he was able to see Kaiko (via 3d/4d Ultrasound) before he passed. He would have spoiled him like he did with Mikey Jr and Neeko. He is so missed! Love to you both, Paulette

I am forever grateful to you, Victor, and all of the Canepas for taking me in as family, teaching me work ethic and skills that stay with me today. I came to work for you when I was 18, just a baby. You taught me and believed in me, and for ten years you were a mentor, a friend, a silly and sometimes stern boss, and quickly and always family. You took my own baby, Gaia, into your family, too, and through you she learned the value of supporting small family businesses, a value she still holds and practices today. I've never shared this, but I dream of El Cerrito Lighting often, a couple times a month. In my dreams, it is always thriving and busy, my interactions with you, John, Mark, Michael, Aaron, Liz, Ed, Lee, Evelyn, Med, Jason, Paulette, Esther, wild Rebekah, and many of the customers I remember are light and easy, and I feel loved. I explore the attic storage spaces, Mark's metal-works studio, the back shipping area, and all of it becomes an amazing labyrinth of happy memory. Those dreams help me feel close to all of you, even though I don't get to see you anymore and my life has taken me far away. Please know that you are still and always in my heart, all of you. I love you.

Victor always came from the heart. He really cared about family and people. He was always ready to help, and positive about whatever needed to be done. We're so glad we were able to see him a few weeks ago at Kaikoa's 3d/4d ultrasound, and that he was able to see his new grandson. He would have been an amazing grandfather. It's going to be such a loss for all three of his grandsons! Kathy and Chico
