Tom Fujisaka, grandfather, father, brother and friend, passed away May 2, 2017. Tom was born and raised in Los Angeles and moved to the Bay Area where he started his family. He was a member of the Steamfitters Union, Local 342. He spent time in Hawaii enjoying the people, the weather and his access for mobile independence.
Tom was a compassionate and modest person who touched many lives. He was a caring family man and was also active in many charitable organizations. He gave his time and energy to helping others and was embarrassed by acknowledgements of gratitude. He gave from his heart and that was what made him happy.
Tom is survived by his ex-wife Sandra Inaba, sons Tadashi (Elise), Travis, grandchildren Kiyomi and Canyon, siblings Steve (Rosslin), Kathie (Walter Lehman), Barb (Chuck), nephew Steven, Jr. (Julia), niece Shiiyu, special caregiver Maria Ramirez, and numerous relatives.
We will celebrate his life and bid Tom “Aloha” on May 20, 10:30 a.m. at the Sunset View Mortuary, 101 Colusa Ave, El Cerrito, CA. We plan to honor Tom’s love for Hawaii with Hawaiian attire. To honor his wishes, his ashes will be scattered in Hawaii. Donations can be made to the Always Dream Foundation.
