Tak Leung Tang was born on May 1, 1934 in Guangdong, China. She was the 11th of 13 children in her family. Growing up she enjoyed spending time outside with her younger brothers biking, picking lychees from the trees, and catching frogs in the ponds. In 1958, she married the love of her life, Ping Lam Tang, in Hong Kong and subsequently had 3 children: Ian, Carin, and Betty. One of her biggest dreams was to provide the best life and opportunities for her children, so following her sister-in-law, Tak and the rest of the family immigrated into the United States in 1967. She enjoyed her life in the United States being surrounded by extended family, going on family trips, playing mahjong with girlfriends, and eating sushi. Tak lived a very fulfilling, joyful, and loving life surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Even in her last moments she reminded us all of how much she loved us and we were able to do the same.
She passed away peacefully on October 26, 2021.
