Mrs Saxberg was my favorite elementary school teachers at Alvarado. I believe I was a member of one of her last classes as the school closed a year or so later Regardless, she gave me - a quiet, shy bookworm - so much encouragement and support that I so much needed at that time in my life. I wished I could had told her about my later academic pursuits at Cal but I had heard she moved away up north. Sad today to hear that she passed away not far away. May she rest in heaven.
