Stefanie “Steffi” Gruber Oliver Silvia
Born March 23, 1935, in Nuremburg, Germany

Died September 29, 2021, in Albany, California

Beloved mother, aunt, stepmother, and stepgrandmother, Steffi passed away in her sleep. She is survived by her daughter Monica (Jose) from her first husband, family in Germany, and a large blended family through her second husband, Ray.

Steffi completed her education and banking apprenticeship in Germany. She emigrated to the U.S. in 1959 and married in 1960. She was widowed two years later. She remarried in 1969.
Steffi enjoyed a very active life with Ray going on memorable vacations around the U.S. and to many countries around the world. She loved reading and was an accomplished knitter, cook and baker. She was involved in her church, Monica’s schools, and in the community through the NCCW/DCCW, CASA, and Exchange Club.
She has many friends and a large extended family who will miss her very much.

A Vigil will be held on Oct. 29th at 6 pm and a funeral mass on Oct. 30th at 10 am, both at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 308 Carmel Ave., El Cerrito, CA.
