Passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 in Berkeley, at 86 years of age. A native of Oakland, and 55-year resident of El Cerrito. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Rose Lernberg of El Cerrito; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other kindred across the U.S. and in Sweden. Ronald graduated from Cal Berkeley in 1951, and worked as an electronics engineer for Pacific Bell in San Francisco, retiring in the early 1990s. Long-time member, Contra Costa County Democratic Party. Mr. Lernberg was a great storyteller and humorist; he enjoyed rescuing abandoned dogs, playing the guitar, and tinkering with his beloved 1936 Ford Phaeton 4-door convertible.
Friends and acquaintances are cordially invited to attend memorial services Sunday, March 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Chaparral House, 1309 Allston Way, Berkeley. Private cremation, Sunset View Mortuary, El Cerrito. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
