Robert “Bob” Sullivan passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, March 25, 2013.
Bob was born in San Francisco in 1936 and graduated from St. Ignatius College Preparatory School. He performed his undergraduate studies at University of San Francisco (where he was valedictorian) and then studied law at Boalt Hall, University of California, Berkeley.
Bob went on to serve in the intelligence branch of the United States Army (1961-63). During the Cuban Missile Crisis, he was assigned to carry the plans for the invasion of Cuba to the U.S. forces being assembled in Florida in the event that the crisis was not resolved.
Bob was a leading partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP for over 40 years, having spent his entire legal career with the firm. He joined the firm as an associate in 1963 and was elected to the partnership in 1971. He retired in 2011.
Upon his retirement Bob and his wife Lynn acquired a second home in Paris and enjoyed extensive travels abroad.
In addition to his wife Lynn, Bob is survived by his daughter Teresa and his sons, Andrew and Edward.
