I am so sorry I didn't know about Dr. Fowler's passing. He was my professor in graduate school. I picked him up and brought him to my retirement party in 2013. I'm sorry I didn't realize sooner that he was gone--it took a few years of being the only one to post "Happy birthday" on Facebook. Dr. Fowler was a fantastic professor who spent many hours on the phone helping me with homework! I was a math teacher and Dr. Fowler would answer my questions whenever I had a high level question. I hope he is enjoying life in heaven--he was a great and generous teacher.

I spent many of the most wonderful days and years of my life sailing and working with Peter on his Cal 20 "Upper Bound." He trusted me to sail Upper Bound several times from such places as Oakland to San Francisco single handed for the next day's race. We raced many weekly races at Berkeley and Richmond Yacht clubs and won several times. I just learned last night through Google why he wasn't answering my emails. It was and is a very emotional time for me. I was very comforted by my loving wife. (Sat. 06/11/2016)

A former math professor of mine (early 2000s). Years later, I would see him on occasion at the coffee shop on Alcatraz and College in Berkeley. He was a wonderful man.
