Patricia Lawson Salmi (Smith) passed away recently at the age of 89. She was
mother to 6 children; Rick, Michael, Kenneth, Kathleen, Shelly and Joanna. She is also
survived by her 7 grandchildren; Amy, Kristen and Max Smith; Justin and Tyler Smith;
and Nicholas and Johnathan Garner. She is further survived by 7 great-grandchildren:
Damien, Ilana and London Cunningham; Flora and Leo Martinez; and Jude and Elliott
Smith.
Born in Kansas, she was raised by her parents, William and Zilpha Lawson in El
Cerrito, Ca and graduated from El Cerrito High School. She resided most of her life in
the Napa area, and later in San Pablo, CA. Her surviving children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren remain in the Napa, Fairfield, East Bay and Santa Cruz, area.
Her ashes will be buried, with her parents, in the Sunset View Cemetery in El Cerrito
July 12. In-lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Berkeley Animal Shelter.
