Patricia J. Carter, lovingly known as Patty, was called home to be with the Lord on January 19, 2026. She passed peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her.
Patty was born on November 30, 1967, to Jim Carter and Laurel McGrath at Brookside Hospital in San Pablo, California. She grew up in the Bay Area and attended John Swett High School in Crockett, California, where she formed many lifelong friendships that she treasured deeply.
Patty’s greatest joy in life was her three beautiful daughters, Erica, Jessica, and Madison. She was endlessly proud of each of them and their accomplishments, and her love for them knew no bounds.
Patty built a successful and fulfilling career in banking, where through dedication and hard work she rose to the position of Vice President of her branch. Along the way, she earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike, forming lasting friendships and serving as a trusted mentor and compassionate leader.
Outside of work, Patty loved spending time with her three daughters and was a loving and devoted dog mom. Patty was an amazing chef who loved cooking up delicious meals for her family and friends. Patty also enjoyed home decorating, fashion, singing and dancing along to music, celebrity gossip, and reminiscing about cherished memories. She was a devoted sports fan, especially of the Raiders, and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on.
Patty will be remembered for her infectious laughter, remarkable strength, and genuine kindness. She was a beautiful spirit full of life, love, and warmth and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Patty was preceded in death by her mother, Laurel McGrath; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and many other beloved relatives.
She is survived by her daughters, Erica, Jessica, and Madison; her father and stepmother, Jim and Maureen Carter; her sisters, Tiffany, Sarah, Cathleen, and Dianna; two nieces, with one more on the way; a nephew; and many loving cousins, friends, and extended family members.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18).
Patty’s earthly journey has ended, but her spirit lives on in God’s care. We trust in His promises and find peace knowing she is whole, healed, and forever held in His love.
