Born to Shigeaki and Kiyoko Yamauchi in Oakland, CA., July 21, 1930. Sam passed peacefully at home March 25, 2016. Predeceased by parents, siblings, Kazuko and Ken.

Survived by sibling Hiroshi, wife Norma, children Robert (Barbara Parkyn), Carrie (Scott) Rautmann, Mark, Mia; grandchildren Tyler, Gage, Kolea, Melissa; nieces, nephews and cousins.

During WWII interned at Topaz, Utah and Tulelake, CA. Graduate of Berkeley High and UC Berkeley. Enjoyed career as mechanical consultant, was an avid golfer and loved to share veggies from his garden. Family very grateful for compassionate care by staff of Asian Network Hospice.

Family and friends are invited to services to be held April 23, 2016, 11 AM, Sunset View Mortuary, Colusa and Fairmont Avenues, El Cerrito, CA. Family requests any memorial contribution be made to donor’s favorite charity.
