Nick was a graduate of Albany High School and served his country in the Army. During his younger life he enjoyed working at his uncle’s nursery in Albany (Flowerland). Following his service, he worked for MV Nursery in Richmond. He later completed his education at San Francisco State University and began working for the Contra Costa County School District where he later retired from. He loved his gardening and coaching youth throughout his career in addition to umpiring Baseball with USSSA (US slow-pitch softball Assoc), Football, Basketball, Volleyball & Soccer for upward of 30 years. He holds a place in the Bay Area Umpires Hall of Fame. Our Dad loved being around people, but most importantly, he loved his family. This Christmas was especially difficult as the Holidays were his favorite season.
A public celebration of life will be planned once the ban of assembly due to COVID has been lifted. If you would like to be updated on the service arrangements, please email the family at Nicklifeceleb@gmail.com. In the days following a celebration of life, his final resting place will be at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, Ca.
