Maxine L. McGee Barnett, a native of Exeter, CA, died Thursday, January 14, 2016 in Fairfield. She was 94. Maxine moved to Richmond in 1944 and has lived in the same house ever since. She retired after 25 years as an Offset Printer at Lawrence Radiation Lab. A fiercely independent, strong woman who was well traveled, Maxine loved dancing, photography and crocheting. She made afghans for everybody. She was very much involved with Job’s Daughters and was in charge of the drill team, dance team and tumbling team.
Maxine was a loving mother to Deanna Prien and Marylyn Stucker; sister to Ethel Andrews and Gloria Bonner; grandmother of 6; great grandmother of 10; and great-great grandmother of 8. She outlived 3 great loves of her life.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation commencing at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset View Mortuary, top of Fairmount Avenue, El Cerrito. Interment Monday, January 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset View Cemetery.
