In Loving Memory
Born to Victor and Margaret Clark in Kentfield, California. Margie was an alumnus of Mt Tamalpais High School and Children’s Hospital of San Francisco Nursing School.
In 1950 she met the love of her life, John Edward Corcorran, who she married in 1952. They had 5 boys together before John was tragically killed in an automobile accident on his way home from work in 1961.
Margie is survived by her 5 boys: Jeffrey and wife Lise, Sean and wife Julie, Scott and wife Lynda, Peter and wife Myra, Patrick and wife Tina; 13 grandchildren: Justine, Patrick, Nick, Maria, Sara, Ian, Chase, Frances, Michela, Jessica, Madeline, Evan and Nathan; 4 great grandchildren: Owen, Bear, Payton and Mickey. Margie is also survived by two sisters and two brothers: Shirley, Valentine, Victor and Virginia. Margie was predeceased by her parents and sister Corina.
After graduating from nursing school, Margie continued to work for Children’s Hospital. She stopped working as a nurse when she started having children. However, she stayed active in the nursing field and was a past Alumni President of Children’s Nursing School. After raising her children, she reentered the health care field working as a home health care nurse.
Margie was a devout Christian who attended Presbyterian churches in Berkeley, Walnut Creek and Concord. Her faith guided her life and provided strength when difficulties arose. Because of her love of music and singing, she was an active member of the church choirs.
Margie was a loving, devoted mother. While the boys were young, she spent many hours transporting and watching them at swim meets, baseball games, band recitals and many more activities. She believed in a Christian up bringing for the boys, so church attendance was mandatory.
With 13 grandchildren she was busy traveling to their homes or having them in hers. She would spend much of her time with them reading, playing games and attending their events and activities. After the birth of twin granddaughters, she spent 6 months helping their family.
Besides her boys, keeping in touch with siblings and extended family was important to Margie. She was often involved in organizing and attending family get togethers whether it be for holidays, birthdays or any excuse to see each other, where you could always find her laughing, giggling and singing.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 AM on November 4th at the First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley, 2407 Dana St, Berkeley, CA 94704. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association: act.alz.org.
