Marian Ruth (Uhl) Sylvester, 95, of Kensington, CA, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. She was born in Denver, CO, on March 24, 1921 to August F. and Maud Marie Blandford Uhl, and was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Edward S. Sylvester. She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn (William) Jarrett, her son, Stephen, and grandson, Eric Sylvester (Crispin Delgado).
In addition to being wife and mother, Marian was Head Teacher at the Albany Children’s Center, in the University Village, Albany, CA, for many years. A constant theme throughout her life was her abiding love of small children.
A Memorial mass will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, January 29th, 2017 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 308 Carmel Ave., El Cerrito, CA. Inurnment services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Marian’s name to the charity of your choice.
