Ann Murphy Obituary:
In loving memory of Marcia Ann Murphy, beloved wife and life partner of Glen L
Moss.
Ann was 80 years old when she passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026.
Born in Spokane, Washington, Ann and Glen made Berkeley their home since 1969 and
were married October 14, 1977. Ann Murphy was a woman of uncommon clarity and
purpose, approached life with precision, intellect and fierce determination. As an
attorney, Ann persuaded the California Supreme Court to take two of her cases,
resulting in substantial refunds to customers of Pacific Bell. Ann also secured the first
published Court of Appeal decision holding parents responsible for damages wen their
minor children kill people with firearms. Ann brought this same passion to gardening,
river rafting and caring for her dogs and cats. Ann will be deeply missed by her
husband, those who loved her and the many individuals she mentored, all of whom
continue to carry forward her wisdom and example.

Donations can be made to the Berkeley or Hayward Animal Sherlter, Guide Dogs
for the Blind in San Rafael, or Meals on Wheels in Alameda County.
