Luis Dg Soluaga passed away peacefully on January 12, 2017 at the age of 85. His wife of 49 years, Enidelvia Soluaga; their 3 children, Luz, Luis and Doris; and their 5 grandchildren, Nicolás, Lukas, Rio, Charlie and Elise, survive him.
Luis was born in a small town called Mallas in the Andes of Peru in 1931. He moved to the United States in the early 1970s in pursuit of a better life. He was a kind, loving father who sacrificed greatly to provide for his family, so his children could enjoy a brighter future. Despite his fondness for the United States, Luis was proud of his Peruvian roots, and visited his native homeland as often as he could. He left behind a large extended Peruvian family, including 3 sisters, which he loved dearly.
He enjoyed a healthy lifestyle, eating daily nutritious meals and exercising regularly. He believed homeopathic remedies were best and preferred a more holistic approach to western medicine. He loved playing Bingo, going to the casino, watching his tv show Caso Cerrado, listening to native-Peruvian Huayno music, reading naturalistic medicine books, and reminiscing of the past. However, nothing made him happier than being able to spend time with his loved ones, including dear friends. He liked to say that his greatest accomplishment was raising his three kids. He was extremely proud of his children, and his grandchildren too.
Luis will be greatly missed and remembered most for his unwavering beliefs and astounding perseverance. No matter how hard things got, he simply never gave up!
