Larry Ward-Cox

Larry was born in 1944 in Nansemond County, Virginia. He entered the US Army at 18 and was stationed for several years in Germany. After his honorable discharge from the Army in 1968, Larry moved to California and became interested in Judaism. He had plans to convert, move to Israel and live on a kibbutz.

The Lord Jesus had different plans. In the early 1970’s a colleague at his work invited him to a church meeting. At the church in Berkeley Larry saw Jesus Christ expressed in the brothers and sisters and became a lover of Christ. He also saw that just as God moved in His believers 2000 years ago, as recorded in the New Testament, so also God is moving in and through His Church today to build up the Body of Christ and to bring the kingdom of God from heaven to earth.

Larry was always eager to fellowship about the Bible and his experiences of Christ. He was faithful to Christ and steadfast in his vision of God’s eternal purpose as revealed in the Bible. Our brother loved the Lord and expressed his love by shepherding and feeding His sheep. Larry was dearly loved by the brothers and sisters in the church and his presence will be missed.
