Larna Tingley, a 15 year resident of Castro Valley and prior resident of San Leandro, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014. A native of Newton County, Arkansas, Larna moved to the Bay Area in the early 1940s. She became a single mother early in life and worked hard to support her children. She purchased and rented properties, among other things, to make ends meet.
Survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Barbara Smith and Michael and Carole Smith; brother, Wilbur Sutton; grandchildren, Wendy Arnold and Aaron Smith; and great grandchildren, Melissa and Kevin Arnold.
Funeral Service Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation commencing at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset View Mortuary, top of Fairmount Avenue in El Cerrito. Interment to follow at Sunset View Cemetery.
