Krishna Kumari Lama

Daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandmother – a woman who loved well and was
well loved; Krishna Lama passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at age 93 after a brief illness
in John Muir hospital, Walnut Creek, CA on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at 12:38pm.

Krishna was the youngest of two children born on November 3, 1930, to Subedar Jeet Bahadur Thokar
and Sri Laxmi Lama in Chothang, Charikot, Dolakha district, Nepal. She was preceded in death by her
mother and father, brother Nar Bahadur Thokar and two sons Tenzin Lama & Chodup Lama and
husbands Phurba Namgyel Lama, and Riksham Dorje Lama. Krishna is survived by her three daughters
and one son, nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Born in a small village in Nepal, Krishna lived in Nepal, India, US, and Canada and led a full life of joy,
sadness, loss, happiness, and adventures. No matter how many times she was knocked down or
endured unfortunate events and hardship, she picked herself right up and kept coming back with more
strength, agility, and enthusiasm. She loved sharing her life stories often reminiscing her childhood days,
loved singing old folk songs from her village and always stayed busy, growing vegetables and attending
the gardens.

Lovingly remembered by family – eldest daughter Chiring Lama, her husband Purna Singh Lama and
grandchildren Pradeep Lama, Laxmi Lama(wife), Sujata Lama, Dilip Lama, Wendy Lama (wife), and great
grandchildren Yeshe Lama and Stella Lama; second daughter Gopi Lama and her husband Prem Gurung, and
grandchildren Milli Gurung Comstock, Nathan M. Comstock (husband) and Prerna Gurung, Subash
Dev Pant (husband), and Binita Lama and Sujit Maharjan (husband) and great grandchildren Nirvaan R.
Comstock and Noor Eva Comstock; son Shambhu Lama, his wife Samjhana Lama and grandchildren
Shabrin Lama, Aaron Aabhash Lama and Brett Nibash Lama; youngest daughter Sapana Lama, her
husband Pramod KC and grandchild Sulav KC and Sarala Thapa (wife), In-law family Rattu Lama, Sagun
Lama (wife) and grandchildren Ashru Lama, Prateek Lama and Prakriti Lama.
