Keith Dean Gaustad died on July 25, 2026. He was born in Berkeley, CA on July 16, 1940, to Martyne and Florence Gaustad, both deceased. Siblings Lawrence (Larry), Noel, Vincent (Vince) and Eric preceded him in death, and Gregory Gaustad and Marta Baca survive him. Keith graduated from Berkeley High School and Heald Engineering College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
Throughout his career he traveled all over the world, working in Iraq, Nigeria, Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories, Canada, multiple U.S. cities, Las Vegas, Nevada, Tuscola, Illinois, Simi Valley, San Jose and Sacramento, California.
His greatest joy was traveling: to China for the Shanghai Exposition in 2010, exploring Costa Rica with a friend, Peru to visit Lima and Machu Pichu, Brazil and Argentina to experience Iguazu Falls. He also met Florence and Marta in Paris in 1977, driving south through Italy to Barcelona, Spain.
Keith leaves behind many nieces and nephews who enjoyed listening to his stories and the anecdotes of his travels. We give thanks to all the family members who helped him in his journey and especially to Hospice East Bay who provided so much support to Keith and our family.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved and always remembered.
