Judy Lorraine Chan-Tong, 61, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at her home in Hercules, California.
Judy was born in Oakland, California to Wayne and Lily Chan. She graduated from El Cerrito High School and attended Contra Costa College. Judy worked at Doctors Medical Center (formerly Brookside Hospital) in San Pablo for over 30 years. She started as a radiology transcriptionist, was promoted to secretary for the radiologists, and, for her last 6 years, was an IT analyst. Judy found a great deal of joy in an unpretentious life. She took much pleasure in shopping, dining out, traveling, and celebrating life with her family.
Judy was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Chan.
Judy is survived by her husband of 28 years, Arnold Tong, step-son, Ryan Tong, mother, Lily Chan, brother, Michael Chan (Kieran), sister Donna Chan-Brownrigg (Edwin), nieces and nephews Katie Chan, LT John Chan, USN, Jason Brownrigg, and Mary Christian Mammana, mother-in-law, Lillie Tong, sisters-in-law Teresa Sakahara (Steve), and Mona Nelson, and niece Stacy Amorim.
Please join us for a Memorial and Celebration of Life for Judy at Sunset View Cemetery Association, 101 Colusa Ave., El Cerrito, CA on Saturday, 6 April 2013 at 1:00 PM. The family will be celebrating Judy’s life by wearing purple, Judy’s favorite color. Guests are also invited to wear something purple.
