Joey, my dear husband, took his last breath today, 04/10/20 at 12:28pm. He fought a long, incredibly hard battle against stage 4 pancreatic cancer over the last 10 months. He was 52 years old.
I’m deeply devastated and heartbroken by this immense loss which I cannot even measure at this point. Words do not do it justice.
When we were first diagnosed on June 20, 2019, I prayed that I would show up with dignity and grace, along with courage and strength – I believe that I did. More importantly, Joey showed up with all of these along with so much grit, determination, bravery and humor. My admiration and love for him grew exponentially each day.
Joey is my hero, my best friend, my true love, and it was my greatest honor to be his husband.
The way I've often described Joey’s love is that it filled me up from the inside out, fixed my broken heart, and filled in all the cracks in my heart along the way.
I will be profoundly changed by his love and our journey, and will miss the hell out of him.
My dear sweet Joey, I love you to the moon and back. Until we meet again on our second first date on the other side of the rainbow bridge. I will think of you daily, I will love you always, I will look forward to your visits in my dreams.
