Passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in Oakland, at 69 years of age. A native Merced and 58-year resident of Oakland. Survived by his wife of 16 years, Karen Blueford of Oakland; daughters, Renee Torrence (William) of Hayward, Regina Dennis (Mark) of El Sobrante, and Rhonda High (Kenneth) of Riverside; sons, Reginald Blueford of Oakland, and Jerry Blueford II (Ozzetta) of Oakland; sisters, Norma Dean Craig of Oakland, Denise Shirley (Leon) of Tracy, Beverly “Joyce” Scott (Perry) of Dublin, and Diane McCluney (Lawrence) of Kansas City, Kansas; brothers, L.C. Blueford of Oakland, Arnold Blueford of Vallejo, and Roy Blueford (Kathleen) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; granddaughter, Khayla Rovillos of San Francisco; and grandsons, Mark Dennis II and Jeremy Dennis, both of El Sobrante. Jerry started his career with the Oakland Fire Department in 1969, and retired as Fire Marshal in 2001; he has spent the past ten years as a Superior Court attendant for Alameda County.
Friends and acquaintances are cordially invited to attend funeral services Friday, December 6 at 11:00 a.m in the chapel of Sunset View Mortuary, top of Fairmount Avenue, El Cerrito; interment following, Rolling Hills Memorial Park, Richmond. Viewing Thursday, December 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
