Glen Alan Hicks

October 8, 1954 - July 26, 2026

Glen was born on a Friday to Glenna Ruth and Dale C Hicks in Oakland, CA at the Oak Knoll Naval Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife Lynne and his son Andrew. He is also survived by his three brothers Dale, Jim, and Robert, their wives Sam and Leslie, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Glen’s father was career Navy so he spent his early years traveling to various posts in the U.S. as well as Guam. The family finally settled in Richmond, CA where Glen attended school and graduated from ECHS early in 1973. Glen served in the United States Marine Corps from 1973 to 1977 when he was honorably discharged.

After his military service, he attended Contra Costa College. He went to work at Kaiser in 1979 starting out as a tech in the Berkeley Regional Lab and retired in 2015 in Network Operations. Throughout his career he was known for his problem-solving abilities, dedication, and the pride he took in his work.

Glen was a member of El Cerrito-Albany De Molay serving as Chapter Dad and President of the Advisory Board; and was a recipient of the Chevalier Degree in recognition of his service. Glen was also a Master Mason and 47+ year member of Bay Cities Lodge No. 337.

In retirement, Glen spent as much time as possible at his happy place, the family property in Amador County.

Glen will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and the care he showed to those around him. His presence, laughter, and stories will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

There will not be a funeral service but there will be a celebration of life at a later date.

Glen is my best friend , present tense! On July 26, 2026, Glen passed on to Glory! He is my best friend. He is my Brother and I know we will seeing each other again, sharing thoughts mostly of Kaiser and enjoying each other's company again. Glen you will always be in my mind and heart. Love you always! Dear Lynne & Andrew, We are deeply saddened for he loss of Glen. He will be remembered forever. He was an amazing person to all & a friend like no other. He always looked on the bright side, whether it was medical or political. His laughter was infectious & soon we were all laughing. Glen was very kind to everyone he never missed an opportunity to help someone in need. I know because we received that care. He is loved & will be missed. Rest in heavenly peace Glen. BIG Hugs 🫂

Hi Lynne and Andrew, I just received your note about Glen. I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you and your family during this difficult time. As you know, Glenn has been my neighbor since the '90s. I will truly miss our conversations whenever we ran into each other. He was a wonderful neighbor, and I'll always remember his kindness. Glen and I worked together and fished together. That Glen called me friend is an honor I will carry in my heart for the rest of my days. Lynne and Andrew, I hope the love that Glen left behind for you will help to ease the pain of your loss.

I was lucky to have had two big brothers. Whether they liked it or not. I've slept like a baby for 45 years, knowing my sister was in good hands. Job well done Glen. We've got your back. Love Hugh

I am so so sorry. Glen was more than just a Brother, he has been a great friend. After I graduated from HS and joined the Navy. Glen gave my wife a ride to school. He took care of for me. When Sam (Patricia) and I got married, Glen rode with us to Disneyland, he was going to Bootcamp ( I think ). Glen is a true Hicks, he was always Happy and how to resolve most issues. I loved going Fishing with him , I will miss our Daily Texts regarding what the weather was and what he was eating. (All my brothers and I participated. Rest in Peace my brother! Love you and am missing you more than words will say.
