Esther Esmilla Taylor, 63 years old, of El Cerrito, California passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Darrell Taylor and mother of Christina Taylor, Kenderrick Taylor, and Catherine Smally. Esther was born in Iloilo, Philippines on April 18, 1954, to Eulogio and Lorenza Esmilla. She was the youngest of 10 children. She moved to California in 1982. Esther worked as a nurse at Kaiser Permanente in Richmond, California for over 20 years. Esther was an incredible woman and lived a remarkable life, always leaving a memorable impression. She was filled with cheer, humor, love, faith, and hope. If you ever met her, you know her big personality and how much she cared for her family. She is the type of person who strikes up a conversation with just about anyone. She is deeply loved and will be missed by many family and friends.
The family will be keeping vigil (4p – 6p) and rosary (6p – 7p) on the following dates: 8/21, 8/22, 8/24, 8/25, 8/26, 8/27. On 8/28, Quiet Hour Viewing (4p – 5p), Rosary (5p – 6p), Memorial Service (6p -8p). All of these events will be held at Sunset Mortuary, 101 Colusa Ave., El Cerrito, CA 94530.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at 11am officiated by Father Carl Arcosa at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 11150 San Pablo Ave, El Cerrito, CA 94530.
Viewing will be held before mass at 10a – 11a.
