Delbert “Del” Lee Woodall passed away on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Del faced his illness with courage and very few complaints. He touched many friends and family with his gentle spirit and positive outlook on life.
Del was born in Glendale, California and lived in Hollywood with his parents, Gil and Virginia Woodall. He loved riding up and down Hollywood Blvd and all over the Hollywood hills on his bike. He attended Hollywood High School and after high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps. He served as a wireman in Vietnam from 1966 – 67. After discharge from the Marines, he moved to Salinas where he married his first wife and had two daughters.
For many years Del worked as a drug and alcohol counselor at Gladman Hospital in Oakland and Step One in San Leandro. It was here he met the love of his life, Vicki who was employed there as a nurse. The couple married in 1990 and made their home in El Sobrante. Del spent the remainder of his career working as an intake specialist and later as a computer trainer at Manage Health Network.
Del enjoyed music, especially Doo Wop, Blues, and Rock n Roll. He DJ’d many dances around the East Bay. He loved good food, his dogs and the ocean! Most of all he loved making people laugh.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Vicki Steele-Woodall, daughters Leslie Eby and Meredith Garris and 10 grandchildren, brother-in-law, Dave Steele, niece Cindy Desimone, nephew Tim Steele and wife, Dawn and many dear great nieces and nephews.
Friends and Family are invited to a memorial service to celebrate his life at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, at Hope Lutheran Church, 2830 May Rd, El Sobrante, CA 94803.
