Daniel Joe Garcia was born in Oakland California on December 31st, 1948. His father Max Millano Garcia was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His mother Bessie Garcia Herrera was born in 1907 in Cuba, New Mexico. Daniel had two brothers; Toby and Max and five sisters, Bernice, Julia, Angie, Ester, Corine and Eremita.
Daniel loved Oakland and other than his time in the United States Marine Corps, he lived there his whole life. He was the youngest of the family. He was loyal to his family, fun loving and an optimist at his core. He always strived to enjoy life and push the boundaries of his potential.
He had a successful career in real estate for over 50 years. He purchased his first hotel in his early 20’s and helped hundreds of people purchase their first homes.
He met Sara Ortega in 1970 and the two married in 1971.
He excelled at enjoying the moment, showing up, and never giving up. His favorite hobbies were playing golf and fishing which he passed down to his sons Daniel, Mark and David.
He was a man of Christian faith and active in the church. He was active with the Royal Rangers youth organization taking children camping and various other activities.
