Carolyn Ann Bennett, a native of the Bay Area, passed away January 23, 2021, in Richmond at the age of 77.
Carolyn was a beloved wife to Charles Bennett Sr. for 56 years. Devoted mother to sons Charles Bennett Jr., Matthew Bennett, and daughter Tracy Travis and mother-in-law to Tom Travis and Maria Bennett. Adored grandmother to Dawson Travis (19 years old), Daley Travis (14 years old), Brody Bennett (7 years old), and Adam Bennett (4 years old). Loving sister to her brother Robert Freeman Jr., and sisters Mary Jane Long and Judy Mason. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
Carolyn loved music and dancing participating in many groups and classes including square dancing, line dancing, and most recently a choir. Carolyn enjoyed spending time with friends and family especially going to the movies, seeing musicals, water walking, Mexican train dominoes, family celebrations as well as trips to Reno. Carolyn was a dedicated educator who worked as an instructional aide in special education for over 30 years for the West Contra Costa Unified School District specifically at Riverside Elementary, Stege Elementary, Lake Elementary, Dover Elementary and Mira Vista Elementary.
