Carol Young, a 46-year resident of Walnut Creek, died Sunday, November 8, 2015. She was 82. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. Young worked as a management analyst for UC Berkeley for 30 years. She played an integral part in raising her 7 grandchildren. She was heavily involved at Hope Center Covenant Church, taking yearly missions to Mexico and volunteering with homeless outreach.
Survived by her daughter and her husband, Susan and Peat Sutherland; daughter and her husband, Katie and Russ Mignani; grandchildren, Ashley Smith, Kelsey Smith, Nicole Sutherland, Riley Smith, Brody Smith, Courtney Sutherland and Kaitlyn Sutherland; niece and nephews, Barbara McIntyre, Doug Crawford and Dan Crawford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Young, in 1985.
A celebration of her life will be held on November 29th, 2015 at 2 pm at Hope Center Covenant Church, 2275 Morello Avenue, Pleasant Hill, California. Private interment at Sunset View Cemetery, top of Fairmount Avenue, El Cerrito.
