On Saturday, February 3, 2018, Birdie Mae Lodge made her way to Heaven. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, integrity, doing one’s best, and having fun along the way. She loved working as a Home Health Aide and later in life, helping out at the Senior Center, working on the newsletter and mailing preparations.

Born in Washington DC on July 31, 1937 to Charles Paige, Sr. and Katie Lee Paige she had 4 sisters and 4 brothers. She was married, and moved coast to coast, and even to Japan while raising one, two, three, then four children. Later, happily divorced, she raised her children in Oakland, California.

She is survived by her children:

David A. Lodge and his wife Aida
Adrienne T. Lodge
Angela Lodge El-Telbany and her husband Mohamed Adel
Asa B. Lodge

She was also blessed with 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

We celebrate her life and mourn our loss with you and all her friends and loved ones.

I am very sorry for your families loss. Having a strong faith in God is something that can be comforting in times such as this one. Just as Jesus said at John 11: 25, 26 those exercising faith in him have the hope of a resurrection. Just as God has brought humans back from death in the past (John 11:39 - 44) he will also do the same for our love ones. God can not wait until day he will bring so many back, including Ms Birdie Mae, as Job 14 :14, 15 tells us. Keep praying and God will keep comforting you at this time.
