Betty Gregoire passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul. Betty was a devoted mother to her children, John (Sandi) Gregoire and Nancy Wallis. She adored her grandchildren PJ (Rachel) Gregoire, Jaclyn (Les) Wilkinson, Kier (Tyler) Heschong, and Taya Wallis, and great grandchildren Addison, Kennedy, and Reegan Gregoire, and Parker, Chane, and Bexley Wilkinson. Betty cherished her large extended family, including the Gregoire and Harper cousins, Bulnes and Shah families, and countless friends.

Betty was born in Los Angeles to Everett Harper and Ila May Rose. She fell in love with Paul George Gregoire in San Francisco following Paul’s service in World War II and they were married in 1947. Betty and Paul raised their family in San Francisco and Betty was a homemaker before she was an administrative assistant, realtor, and wedding and gift consultant.

Betty was considered the matriarch of her family and was committed to her family and friends. She created many memories rooting for the Giants at Candlestick Park, golfing, bowling, dancing, hosting wonderful parties, and laughing over card games. She will always be remembered as a beautiful, happy, loving, vibrant, and generous soul, and an amazing storyteller. She was a strong and supportive woman who was loved and respected by all who were fortunate to know her.

A memorial service celebrating Betty’s life will take place on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 1:00 pm at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 308 Carmel Avenue, El Cerrito, CA 94530. Betty loved bright colors and flowers and family and friends are invited to dress accordingly. A reception will follow. Betty’s ashes will be spread where she will forever cheer on her Giants and watch the sun set over the Golden Gate.
