Barbara Mae Netherton

Barbara Mae Netherton left her earthly body and entered into eternity on April 6th, 2014. She was surrounded by her loving family and slipped away very peacefully. Barbara was born Barbara M. Winder in Santa Barbara, CA on March 22, 1927. Barbara was preceded in death by her wonderful husband, Raymond W. Netherton, Jr. They were married for 58 years and raised three children: Ian, Shirley, and Diana. Barbara celebrated her 87th birthday two weeks prior to her death with most of her family. She was loved immensely by her family. She had many passions in life: music, gardening, swimming, walking, dining out, small furry animals, frolicking birds at the bird-feeders, and she made the most amazing baked “goodies” every Christmas. She had a contagious laugh which will be greatly missed.

Barbara leaves behind a thankful family who were each blessed to call her Mom, Gramma, and Great-Gramma: Ian W. Netherton of Emmett, Idaho (son), Shirley N. Myers of Foresthill, California (daughter), Diana L. Netherton of El Cerrito, California (daughter), as well as 8 grandchildren: Wayne and Craig Netherton (Ian), Christina, Timothy, Evan, and Thomas Myers (Shirley), and Aaron and James Fishbaugh (Diana). Barbara also embraced her son-in-law, Robert Myers, and daughter-in-law, Wendy Peterson. And last, but hardly least, Barbara was thrilled to welcome 7 great-grandchildren into the family: Gavin, Cameron, Brody, and Camila (Ian), Kaleb, Aries, and Meadow (Shirley). Barbara loved her family. She spent the last 20 years in El Cerrito, where she was very busy in the community. She was a generous and kind person who also loved The Lord.
