Arthur Parziale passed away on January 4th, 2025, in Oakland, California, at the age of 93.
Arthur was born Arturo Emilio Parziale in East Boston, Massachusetts, on February 12, 1931, to Emilio and Viola Parziale. He was the fifth of six siblings.
“Art,” as he was affectionately known, joined the Air Force in 1949 and served as an MP during the Korean Conflict. He was last stationed at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California, and was honorably discharged on September 11th, 1953.
On August 9th, 1953, he married Betty Katherine Baker at Sacred Heart Church in Oakland. They settled in North Berkeley, where they raised their two beloved daughters, Linda and Diana.
Art worked as a welder and ironworker for nearly 40 years, running his own fabrication business, Albany Iron Works. His beautiful craftsmanship can still be seen throughout the Bay Area. Art enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking. He was also a long-time member and past president of the Fratellanza Club in Oakland.
Art was predeceased by his wife, Betty; his parents; four of his siblings; and his son-in-law, Cameron Murdock. He is survived by his sister, Celia Parziale of East Boston; daughters Linda Milani (Mark) and Diana Murdock; grandchildren Kevin Milani (Alycia), Elizabeth Green, Amanda Murdock, and Matthew Murdock; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Jerome Church, 308 Carmel St., El Cerrito, CA 94530, at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 20th, followed by a reception at the Fratellanza Club, 1140 66th St., Oakland, CA 94608.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Arthur’s name to the North Mono County Chamber of Commerce to support stocking fish in local rivers or Hospice East Bay and Piedmont Gardens, who lovingly cared for Arthur in his last months.
