Annie Jetta Schneider passed away in San Pablo, California. She is survived by her three children, Carol Bono (Elizabeth Bartson) of Richmond, CA, Ellen Schneider (Holger Jones) of Manteca, CA and Paul Schneider of Concord, CA, and grandsons, Nathaniel Jones (Tabitha Jones) and Martin Bartson.
She is survived by her brother Cyril Wayne Strongman and her sister Gertrude Olive Skewis. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Schneider, her brothers Ernest Bion Strongman and Melville Swigart Strongman, and her sister Greta Mae Oram.
Annie was born in Lincoln, Illinois. She graduated from high school in Ann Arbor, MI and studied Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley. She met her future husband while employed as a librarian at the UCB Livermore Lab. Annie loved books, poetry and music. She played French horn in orchestra and marching band when young. She had a natural aptitude for harmonizing, taught her children many songs, and read books and poems to them. She encouraged her children to write, be curious, and investigate life.
Annie enjoyed the outdoors, mountains, lakes and weekend car rides on the backroads. She had a deep fondness for animals especially cats. She liked to knit and had a sense for beautiful design.
Annie loved her children and extended family above all else. She was a kind and compassionate friend to all who knew her. She will be missed.
There will be a memorial service at 12 noon on Saturday, January 6, 2017 at Open Door United Methodist Church, 6226 Arlington Blvd, Richmond, CA 94805. Interment at Sunset View Cemetery in El Cerrito, CA.
