Akira “Ike” Konno

April 17, 1934 - November 23, 2015

Akira “Ike” Konno was born on April 17, 1934 and passed away on November 23, 2015 after a battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Oakland, CA and served in the army where he was stationed in Korea. He developed his skills as a mill man working many years at Marcus Hardware. He lovingly shared his carpentry skills with many by doing repairs and making wood pieces. He enjoyed taking walks around the lake, working in the garden, traveling and spending time with family. He is survived by: wife, Midori; stepchildren, Kathy (Alan) Henmi, Jackie (Mike) Ishii; grandchildren Jeremy, Lauren, Mari, Erin and Kristin; brothers Kay Konno, Hayato (June) Konno; Amy Konno and many nieces and nephews. A private service will be held to honor his memory.
