On Sunday, March 22nd, 2020, Yuk Yau Kwan passed away peacefully at the age of 85.
She was born on June 14th, 1934 in Kai Ping, Guangdong province, China to Kwok Sau Kwan and Oui Yeung.
Yuk Yau moved from China to Hong Kong in 1956. She migrated to the U.S. in 1979, and lived in Cincinnati, Ohio for 18 years. She relocated to Oakland, California after her retirement.
She was the Head-Chef for a small Chinese restaurant for many years. After her retirement, she actively participated and enjoyed volunteer work for non-profit, charity organizations in the Oakland community.
All through her life, whatever Yuk Yau chose to do, she always went in with an abundance of energy, enthusiasm, courage, and a can do attitude.
Yuk Yau, beloved wife of late Chow Chung Yee, will be lovely remembered by her children: Angela(James), Eric(Rita), Kwok Chee(Lisa), Edith, Rebecca(Jay), and Monica(Viet). She has fourteen grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren, and they will forever cherish her.
A private funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 2nd, 10:45 A.M. at Sunset View Cemetery, 101 Colusa Ave, El Cerrito, CA 94530.
