William S Palmer, MD died at age 97 with his family at the bedside. Raised in Los Angeles, he attended University High School and UCLA . After graduating from Yale Medical School, he spent two years in the United States Air Force as a flight surgeon. After his Pathology residency at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Los Angeles, he settled in the East Bay and joined the medical staff of Alta Bates Hospital where he eventually became the Chairman of it’s Pathology Department up until his retirement.

He is survived by his children (Daphne Palmer, Liesl Palmer, and Tyler Palmer), stepson (Craig Wilson), and grandchildren (Marcus Ferriera, Magnus Ferriera, Madison Wilson, and Luke Wilson).
