William Norio Hashimoto was born February 23, 1960 in Berkeley, CAto Satoshi and Haruko Hashimoto. His brother, Ronald was born four years later. William attended and graduated from the Berkeley public school system including Jefferson and Franklin elementary schools, Martin Luther King Jr. Jr. High School and Berkeley High School. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from UC Berkeley. William worked as an architect for Hayashida Architecture and lateropened his own architecture company, WHNY Architects. He was proud to say he was a board member and treasurer for Pacific West Aerospace Academy, an investor in VTG Communications, New Global Energy and General Electric as well as an independent associate and leader for Legal Shield. William had a passion for aviation. He even tried to join the Air Force as a young man but was disqualified due to medical reasons much to his disappointment. He was a proud member of the Jimmy Doolittle Society and the Tuskegee Airmen, Alabama Chapter. He was an avid history buff and believed in honoring United States veterans for their service. William loved the finer things in life – traveling, entertainment, music, especially the symphony and jazz, the outdoors, wine and beautiful women from around the world. He and his brother Ron were inseparable and Ron often accompanied William on his travels. William will be remembered as a kind hearted and generous man. His generosity helped more than two dozen students, who would not have been financially able, graduate from Pacific West Aerospace Academy. He believed in giving back and investing in young people because he believed they were the future of America. William is survived by his brother, Ronald Shuji Hashimoto; cousins Gail, Joe and Melissa Reagan, and Thomas and Dean Arita; best friend from childhood,Tayarji “Ty” Peterson; friends, Thaddeus Peterson, Mary Peterson, and William Yee and a host of friends too many to mention who will miss him terribly.
