Wilbert Bill Sims, Jr., a long-time resident of El Sobrante and native of San Francisco, died Monday, March 23, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Palo Alto. Wilbert proudly served our country in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.
Survived by his loving wife, Consuelo Sims; children, Christene Carrera, Noelle Joyce Carrera, Claire Carrera, Phyllis Sims and Josiah Sims; sister, Evelyn Cheatham; and by her grandchildren Elias and Leila Stimson.
Visitation Friday, April 10, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Sunset View Mortuary, top of Fairmount Avenue, El Cerrito, California. Funeral service Saturday, April 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley of Blessings Church, 180 Parker Avenue, Rodeo.
Interment will be private at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.

My Uncle Wilbert was a blessed man. He was strong, very religious, and can talk your ear out.. i remember when i would visit, i would walk through the door and he would be the first peron to hug me.. He was my rock. I will miss him deeply
