

Vivian I. Jackson passed away peacefully in Castro Valley, CA on October 19th, just a day before her 92nd Birthday, following a sudden illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Vivian was born in Longview, TX and was the only child of Gloria D. Walton and William Walton, who both proceeded in death. Her strong faith in the Lord Jesus was present throughout her life. Vivian graduated with honors at 17 from I. M. Terrell High School in Longview, TX and entered Butler College in Tyler, TX to pursue her education.
She met the love of her life and married Arthur D. Jackson 1942 and their union lasted 60 years.
He preceded her in death in 2002. They were the parents of three children; Gloria A. (Jackson) Toney, Ahmad M. Allah ( Arthur D. Jackson, Jr.) and Susan L. (Jackson)-Byrd. After moving to the Bay Area Vivian she began her illustrious career at Naval Supply Center in Oakland, and retired after 33 years in 1984.
Vivian served as an Elder in her church, Community Reformed of Oakland, CA. She served on numerous auxiliaries, boards, delegations until her health declined.
Vivian leaves to mourn many family and friends including her (3) children, (6) grandchildren, (12)great-grandchildren and (6) great great-grandchildren. She is deeply loved and will be missed by many.
