Suzette L. Dotson

Passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in Santa Rosa, at 61 years of age. A native and nearly life-long resident of Berkeley. Survived by her parents, Elwood and Jaunita Cox of Berkeley; daughter, Yvonne Coleman of Santa Rosa; son, Robert Stokes of Berkeley; brothers, Eric Cox of Vallejo, and Kevin Cox of Berkeley; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other kindred. Suzette graduated from Berkeley High School, and received a Masters degree in Counseling from Sonoma State University. She worked as a social worker in Adult Aging Services for Alameda County, Oakland. Long-time member, St. Columba Catholic Church, Oakland.

Friends and acquaintances are cordially invited to attend funeral services Friday, June 28 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Sunset View Mortuary, top of Fairmount Avenue, El Cerrito; interment following, Sunset View Cemetery. Visitation Thursday, June 27 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. with Vigil at 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Isabelle Kellum Scholarship Fund and/or St. Martin’s DePorres Fund, both c/o St. Columba Church, 6401 San Pablo Avenue, Oakland CA 94608.
