Russell G. Stillwell passed away on June 27, 2012 in Richmond, CA at the age of 89. Loving father of Vicci Marie Stillwell (Rylle Jones) of Concord and Tyler Stillwell of Richmond. Originally from Colorado, Russell moved to California as a young man with his bride, Dorothie Stillwell (now deceased) and they made their life in the Bay Area. He served our country in the US Army during WWII. Russell obtained his education from the U. of N. Colorado and Stanford. A devoted educator for more than 40 years, he spent most of his career as a teacher and counselor at Contra Costa Community College. Russell loved his family, music, dogs, laughter and his cherished friends.
A memorial service will be held on August 11, 2012 at 2pm, Sunset View Mortuary, top of Fairmount Ave, El Cerrito. In lieu of flowers, contributions are welcome and should be made to the Stillwell Scholarship, Contra Costa College Foundation, 2600 Mission Bell Dr., San Pablo, CA 94806.
