Departed this earth, to join God and close friend Andrew Carter. A retired U.S. Air Force officer, Robert served in the military for 20 years, including the Korean and Vietnam wars, after which, in 1968, he received a “Letter of Commendation” from the President of the United States for service “under fire.” After several tours in Europe and Asia, he retired from the Air Force and went to work as a Medical Assistant at Herrick Hospital in Berkeley. After several years there, Robert retired again.
Robert was preceded in death by his son, Charles and leaves behind his loving wife, Verdean, a son Robert Jr., granddaughter Danielle, as well as a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
The Funeral Mass will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at St. John the Baptist Church in El Cerrito. Burial will be in Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
