Richard Lloyd Pryde

December 10, 1943 - January 3, 2014

Richard Lloyd Pryde, 70, of El Sobrante, CA passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 3, 2014.

Richard was an avid golfer and world traveler. He was part owner of Pastime Ace Hardware and enjoyed helping others with projects. He genuinely felt everyone he met was a friend and would have done anything for them.

Richard is survived by his wife of 44 years Judy Pryde; daughters and son-in-laws Anna and Clare Langford, Stephanie and Moises Carvalho and Susan and Joey Estrada; 5 grandchildren; brother and his wife Robert and Tina Pryde; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews and many beloved friends.

A memorial service honoring Richard will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11:00 am at Richmond Country Club, 1 Markovich Lane, Richmond, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 1060 La Avenida Mountain View, CA 94043 or Sutter VNA & Hospice 1900 Powell Street Ste. 300 Emeryville, CA 94608.

My memories with Mr. Pryde are warm ones. A true loving and caring person. Very genuine, did things out of his heart to help you if you were in need. Love you and miss you Richard. May you rest in peace.

Hey Rich, I'm going to miss you. I'll remember always the best of times when I would see you at the store and you would greet me with the biggest smile. You were one of two people that I let call me Tommy (never my favorite) but it was not a negative coming from you. I'll never forget the time you invited me to play golf with you. Our tee time was 6 AM, it was pitch black out. You said by the time we got to our ball we would be able to see. You were right of course but I never found my tee shot.
