Michael “Mickey” Lagosh passed away on July 17, 2012, at the age of 81, in San Pablo, CA. A native of Milwaukee, WI, Mickey was raised in El Cerrito and has been a resident of El Sobrante for the past 48 years. After graduating from El Cerrito High School in 1950, Mickey served our country in US Air Force. He went on to work for El Cerrito Mill and Lumber for 51 years; Mickey was best known as the “alley clerk” there. He was an active member of the Galileo club for over 50 years, where he served as vice president; and was a former Cub Master of Cub Pack 142. Mickey was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betty LaVerne Lagosh. He is survived by his sons, Andrew (Diana Rohrer) and Eric, of El Sobrante; sister, Betty Dutzel of El Dorado; brother, Salvatore Gigante of Garden Valley; grandchildren Christopher and Cameron Lagosh of El Sobrante; and a host of other friends and relatives. He will be dearly missed. A funeral service will be held for Mickey at Sunset View Mortuary on Friday, July 27 at 11 a.m., top of Fairmount Ave, El Cerrito. Interment to follow at Rolling Hills Memorial Park, Richmond.
