Mary T. Brandau, 85, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 peacefully at home with family.

She is survived by Albert Brandau, her husband of 60 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three sons, Michael A. Chavez, Henry Brandau (Kathy), and David Brandau (Anna). Brother, Walter Chavez (Lita); sisters, Diana (David Gonzalez), Loretta (Ruben Lovato), and Kathleen (Frank Marchi). Many nieces, nephews, grandsons, granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her friend and “comadre” Martha Gutierrez. Mary was pre-deceased by her daughter, Linda Brandau Vitavec; her dearly beloved sister, Irene Chavez Hern and brother-in-law, Jerry Hern.

Mary was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico and lived in that state until she moved to California in 1946 where she has resided since. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Friday, July 26th, 2013 at 12:00 PM at St. David of Wales Church, 5641 Esmond Avenue, Richmond, CA. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Gentiva Hospice or to the charity of your choice.
