At a young age Marta mastered the art of Salvadoran cuisine. It is said that “food is symbolic of love when words are inadequate.” As such, Marta expressed love of her family through food. Whether she whipped-up a classic batch of Casamiento with Platanos or her more exotic Pan Con Chumpe, Marta’s passion for her culinary art was savored in every bite. Marta’s legacy extends far beyond her culinary prowess. A passionate lover of baseball, Marta introduced the love of the game to her family. Now, the love of baseball is as wide-spread through her family as is the love of her Tamales. Marta was also a compassionate lover of animals, reflecting her love of nature. Above all, Marta was strong. A leader by example, she instilled grit and a strong work ethic to her 5 children, 16 grandchildren, and 19 great-grand children. Love is where the heart is, and Marta’s heart was with her family. May she rest in peace, in God’s bed, under heaven’s blanket. Public viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, November 3 from 4:00-6:30p.m. at Sunset View Mortuary, 101 Colusa Ave., El Cerrito, CA. Funeral Services will be held following the visitation at 6:30p.m. at the Mortuary with Pastor Herman Hurtado officiating.

Berta Reyes (hija), Ana Rodríguez (hija), Rosa Rodríguez (hija), Gustavo Navarro (hijo), Rene Navarro (Nieto), Edwin Reyes (nieta), Karen Reyes (nieta), Claudia Tejada (nieta), Lucy Tejada (nieta), Mayela Tejada (nieta), Giovanni Vasquez (nieto), Ivette Vasquez ), Navarro (nieto), Navarro (nieto), Navarro (nieto), Navarro (nieto), Gaby Navarro (nieta), Dani Navarro (nieto), Vlady Navarro (nieto), René Navarro (nieto), Renecita Navarro ).
